PTO Board Position Openings

The Big-Picture Leader

 

If you love bringing people together, organizing big ideas, and making a direct impact on our school community, this is the role for you! As President, you’ll serve as the main point of contact for the PTO, steer the ship at our meetings, and collaborate closely with school leadership. It’s a incredibly rewarding way to use your leadership skills to support our students and staff.

 

The Vibe: Visionary, organized, and community-minded.

 

Key Commitments: Prepares and sends out meeting agendas, guides the board's goals, and works as a true partner with the school principal.

 

(Note: Requires one year of previous experience on the PTO Executive Board).

The Catalyst for Fun & Funding

 

Are you creative, strategic, and passionate about turning ideas into reality? The Vice President is our chief brainstormer and champion for the events and fundraisers that power our school’s extra programming. You get to scout out exciting new opportunities, review what’s worked well in the past, and make recommendations that directly fund student experiences.

 

The Vibe: Enthusiastic, resourceful, and proactive.

 

Key Commitments: Serves as the fundraising chair, researches new initiatives, and pitches fresh ideas to the board.

The Storykeeper & Organization Guru

 

If you are the person who loves a good checklist, keeps impeccable notes, and appreciates order, we need you! The Secretary keeps everyone on the same page by capturing the highlights, decisions, and action items of our monthly meetings. You’ll also serve as our structural anchor, ensuring our meetings stay on track and our bylaws are followed.

 

The Vibe: Detail-oriented, reliable, and a great listener.

 

Key Commitments: Takes accurate minutes at board and general meetings, distributes them monthly, and keeps us aligned with Robert’s Rules of Order.

The Financial Steward

 

If you enjoy working with spreadsheets, balancing budgets, or just want to ensure every dollar raised goes right back to the kids, the Treasurer role is a perfect fit. You’ll manage the PTO bank account, track our incoming fundraising dollars, handle reimbursements for teachers and volunteers, and help draft the roadmap for next year's spending.

 

The Vibe: Trustworthy, analytical, and organized.

 

Key Commitments: Tracks income and expenses, provides monthly and year-end financial reports, signs checks alongside the President, handles tax prep, and co-writes the annual budget proposal.

The District Connector

 

Love knowing what’s happening not just at our school, but across the entire district? The PTOC Representative is our ambassador to the wider district community. You’ll attend the monthly district-wide PTOC meeting, gather awesome ideas and news from other schools, and bring those insights back to share with our board.

 

The Vibe: Curious, communicative, and community-focused.

 

Key Commitments: Attends one district meeting per month and shares a quick verbal or written summary with our board. (And if you have a scheduling conflict, you just help find a substitute to cover for you!).

The Future Coordinator of Fun

 

Have great ideas for future school events and fundraisers, but want a chance to see how they come together first? As Vice President-Elect, you get to work side-by-side with our VP to research new community initiatives and evaluate current fundraisers. It’s an ideal role for someone who wants to bring fresh energy to our school's programming while learning the logistics behind the scenes.

 

The Vibe: Creative, enthusiastic, and ready to brainstorm.

 

Key Commitments: Assists the Vice President with fundraising research, helps pitch new ideas to the board, and learns the workflow to step into the VP role next year.

The Finance-Partner-in-Training

 

Want to help manage our school's resources but wish you had a mentor to show you the ropes first? The Treasurer-Elect role is the perfect "learn-as-you-go" position. You’ll partner with our current Treasurer to learn how we track fundraising dollars, handle reimbursements, and manage the budget. It’s a fantastic way to build confidence with our financial system before taking the lead next year.

 

The Vibe: Collaborative, organized, and numbers-curious.

 

Key Commitments: Shadows the Treasurer to learn the monthly reporting and banking process, and is ready to step in to help manage funds or sign off if the Treasurer is unavailable.

The Apprentice Organizer

 

If you love being in the loop and want to help keep our PTO organized, this is a wonderfully manageable way to jump in. As Secretary-Elect, you’ll shadow our Secretary to learn how we document meetings, manage communications, and stay aligned with our bylaws. You get a front-row seat to how the board operates without having to manage all the paperwork on day one.

 

The Vibe: Observant, reliable, and a fan of clear communication.

 

Key Commitments: Learns the process for taking and distributing meeting minutes, helps keep our records organized, and is ready to step in as the meeting "storykeeper" if the Secretary is absent.
